The Honda DN-01 is a large, automatic sports cruiser equipped with Honda's own infinitely variable hydraulic mechanical "HFT" transmission with the worlds first lockup mechanism that offers superior throttle response. The transmission is coupled to a 680cm3 water-cooled, 4-stroke V-type, 2-cylinder engine. the HFT is a compact and highly efficient encompassing functions for starting, power transmission and shifting, all on a single shaft. The basic configuration of the system consists of an oil pump for converting engine power into hydraulic pressure, and an oil motor for converting the hydraulic pressure back into power for output. The HFT’s lockup mechanism works to minimize transmission efficiency losses, contributing to improved fuel economy. The DN-01 offers both easy to operate features and the intrinsic sporty ride of a motorcycle and features a spacious riding position created by the low seat height, a wide and long passenger seat, and creative, organic styling that ensures joy in ownership. The DN-01 is a new automatic sports model designed with pursuit of fine quality throughout the entire motorcycle.

At the Izakaya Expo, Asahi Breweries exhibited Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold.

At the Izakaya Expo, Sharp exhibited, for reference, an order entry system using the iPad.
With this system, the pictures shown on the iPad can be exactly the same as those on the conventional menu. The system makes intuitive use of the iPad’s user interface; for example, pictures can also be enlarged by pinching.

Phasma is a hexapedal running robot that utilizes the mechanical principles seen in insects.

G-Dog, from HPI Japan, is a dog hobby robot, which was co-developed with Futaba Corporation. It can also be turned into a bipedal robot, by using extra parts to add and replace joints.
G-Dog can be assembled in about two hours, like a plastic model. Users can easily generate original movements, by using the motion editor provided.

This Museum Guide Robot explains the exhibits in an art gallery. It detects the listener’s facial movements and nods, using a laser range-finding sensor and a 360° camera. In this way, the robot finds out “how interested the listener is in the exhibit”, and “how much the listener understands the explanation”.
