Sogho Security Services displayed their Reborg-Q, intelligent security robot, at the 2008 Security Show. The robot which measures 65 by 70 by 130 cm and weighs 120 kg, and is fitted with a range of cameras and sensors.
Once programmed with necessary data such as maps, personnel recognition and security information, the robot can move around on a preprogrammed path autonomously, and when alerted, communicate with the security center to transmit images or data.
The robot is equipped with all kinds of sensors including a sensor for locating people, detecting fire hazards and water leaks. When patrolling the building it uses these sensors to detect abnormalities that occur in the building and notifies the security guards. Also fitted with an IC card reader to verify the identity of individuals, it can automatically determine if they have clearance to be in a certain area.
Recently, we have installed a face recognition system in the robot. It comes with a pre-installed database of registered people including wanted criminals nationwide and terrorists as well as renowned people such as presidents of companies and important clients like VIPs. The robot has an input-memory of these faces and once it finds that individual it immediately notifies the guard.
The robot can also be used as a customer information center, providing communication services, data about the surrounding area, games, commercials or other promotional material.
