The University of Tokyo / ARScope
The Tachi-Kawakami Laboratory from the University of Tokyo introduced new interface technology called ARScope at the Digital Content Expo 2008. ARScope is an interface used to achieve mixed reality using Augmented Reality. ARScope uses reflexive technology to process a graphical image input by a camera and project it in the front through a head mounted projector. This technology differs from the head mounted display that has been widely used in the past because a projector is used to project an image onto an object in the real world, so a virtual image can be superimposed on a real world object. The unique feature of this technology is that it can be used to superimpose a virtual image on a real world object.
