doubleNegatives Architecture / Corpora.prospect
Corpora Prospect, on show at NTT Inter Communication Center, is a project that suggests an imaginary kind of architecture. This architecture can change its form in real time, in response to weather data such as temperature and humidity.
Three weather sensors installed outside Tokyo Opera City, home to ICC, measure temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and noise. This data is transmitted to the nodes of the structure’s wire frame, so each part of the building can autonomously detect the surrounding environment and its own structural stability. It then changes its form accordingly.
