Sanyo Electric announces eneloop Booster series, supporting iPad

On October 21, 2010, Sanyo Electric will release new products in its eneloop Booster series, which keep mobile devices going when their battery runs out. The new models are the eneloop Mobile Booster, a lithium ion battery with USB output for smartphones and iPads, and the eneloop Stick Booster, a handy USB power supply, as well as a charging adapter for the Nintendo DS Series.
The eneloop Mobile Booster KBC-L2BS, with a built-in lithium ion battery, is a mobile power source for heavy users, with a high power output of up to one amp, which is twice the output of previous models. By controlling the current on the charger side, it's possible to stably charge devices like the iPad, which need a high current to charge. This model has two USB sockets, and when the output is 500 mA, it can charge two mobile phones at once.
The eneloop Stick Booster, which uses two eneloop AA batteries, is designed to be easy to carry. It's slim and light, weighing just 76 g including the batteries. This model makes charging mobile games and other devices easy.
The suggested retail prices for these products are 6,000 yen for the eneloop Mobile Booster, 2,980 yen for the eneloop Stick Booster, and 3,500 yen for the Nintendo DS eneloop Stick Booster, which is licensed by Nintendo.

At Wireless Japan 2010, the Nakajima Laboratory at the University of Electro-Communications exhibited a prototype Wearable Personal Navigation System.
To use it the user first inputs the destination. Then GPS detects the current position, and the direction sensor detects which way the user is facing. In this way, the system guides the user to the destination.

At Wireless Japan 2010, NTT DoCoMo exhibited, for reference, a “mobile, multi-viewpoint, naked-eye 3D display”.
This display uses a reticular lens to create a 3D effect when the left and right eyes see pictures from eight viewpoints. A feature of this system is that no 3D glasses are needed, and it enables viewing of natural 3D images over a wide range.

On October 8, Sanyo Electric will release the GOPAN, the world’s first bread maker that can make bread from regular grains of rice.
Unlike previous products, which required the use of rice flour to make bread, this cooker uses grains of rice as the main ingredient. This minimizes the cost of materials, and makes it easy to bake rice bread at home.
