The latest peripheral to be released in Japan for the Sony Playstation Portable is the 1seg tuner. The tuner attaches to the top of the system and allows users to watch digital TV broadcasts on their PSP.
Compared to the mobile phones available in Japan with the 1seg capability, the PSP has a much bigger screen allowing for the user to view the broadcast in it's native resolution, with a full user interface which overlays over the video, or can display more details about the channel you are watching.
The 1seg tuner is only compatible with the Japanese digital broadcast and the latest slim PSP, and is available now for 6980 yen, or about 60$.
