Shinko Mechatro Tech exhibited its prototype dye sublimation album printer dubbed the e-WaCube at the 2008 Photo Imaging Expo.
The e-WaCube is an album printer designed for use in mini labs and photo kiosks and can print photos of various sizes. It also features the world's first album making function that allows users to print and bind photos to create an album with photos printed on both sides of the page.
The printer features 5 tandem print heads and uses a black ribbon along with the regular CMY printing process to enhance the depth and vividness of the print quality.
Shinko Mechatro plans to establish a mass production system within the year and hopes to launch the album printer worldwide next year.
