At the Office Security Expo 2009, Kohken Medical exhibited the EVAC CHAIR, a stairway evacuation chair.
The EVAC CHAIR itself weighs just 9 kg, so it can be easily moved and controlled. It can bear a load of 150 kg, so it can easily take the weight of an adult. Also, the chair is designed to hold the head and body in place securely, so it can carry infirm or injured people downstairs smoothly.
The EVAC CHAIR has already been on sale in Japan for seven years. It’s been installed in government agencies, universities, public facilities, and other large buildings.
