Puyocon – A ball-shaped controller you can squeeze, throw, and roll

-
At SIGGRAPH Asia 2009, Tsukuba University exhibited the Puyocon, a soft, ball-shaped input interface. Unlike conventional controllers, the Puyocon can be squeezed and can even be operated when it’s not in the hand, by throwing, or rolling it. The Puyocon has a three-way acceleration sensor and 14 pressure sensors. It communicates using Bluetooth. The Puyocon has an airbag inside, which makes it feel soft, as well as preventing it from breaking. This soft controller responds to input by pressing or throwing it. It responds to the force with which it’s squeezed or the impact when it’s thrown.
