Eneloop Bike SPL Series with Eco Charge Mode

-
On April 21, Sanyo Electric will release new models in its Eneloop Bike line-up, which can recharge while being used. The new models feature a next-generation mode called Eco Charge Mode. In Eco Charge Mode, the battery is recharged by pedaling on flat roads as well as when going downhill or decelerating, so the user can proactively recharge while riding. In Eco Charge Mode, the amount of charging is controlled by an all-round assessment of change in the dynamotor revolution rate and pressure on the pedals. This enables smooth regenerative charging in a way that’s comfortable for the rider, with adjustment for physical exertion, speed, and road conditions. As well as a high-capacity 7.6 Ah lithium ion battery, the new Eneloop models include Power Reserve capability using Sanyo Electric’s unique battery technology. This greatly reduces concern about the battery running out. Eneloop Bikes have a “two-wheel drive system,” where the rear wheel is driven by pedaling and the front wheel by a motor. This enables both the front and rear tire to grip the road well, making Eneloop Bikes feel stable and smooth to ride. The colors of the new bikes are white and wine-red for the 24-inch model and wine-red, silver, and dark blue for the 26-inch. The recommended retail price is 157,290 yen.
