At Embedded Systems Expo, Toshiba Information Systems exhibited, for reference, the "New Sensation UI Solution," which enables tactile feedback on a touchpanel.This system uses E-Sense technology from Senseg. It gives a tactile sensation to the user without using mechanical vibration, by controlling the electric charge on a film affixed to the touchpanel.The films used in the system can also be affixed to curved surfaces. For example, they can be stuck on both sides of a mobile phone, to give sensations to the user's palm as well as their fingertips.For software developers, Toshiba Information Systems plans to offer an SDK using this system.
