Sanyo Xacti DMX-CA100 – Waterproof Full HD Video Camera

Sanyo Electric has announced that, in late June, it will release the world's first waterproof full high definition video and still camera, the Xacti DMX-CA100.
This model has a waterproof rating of IPX8, so it can be used at a depth of 3m for 60 minutes. Scenes you might ordinarily miss, such as on rainy days, at the pool or beach, or when you're skiing or snowboarding, can be captured in full HD.
As well as full HD movies, this camera can take 14-megapixel still photos. Its high-speed CMOS sensor and Sigma-3 image processing engine enable continuous shooting of up to 22 frames at 7 frames per second.
Also, as a new feature for movies, this camera has a Double Range Zoom capability, newly developed by Sanyo Electric. This provides areas for two photography modes, wide-angle and telephoto, on the image sensor. You can switch between them using the Zoom Range button, enabling you to zoom right in with minimal loss of picture quality.
This camera is available in three body colors: black, yellow, and pink. The retail price will be approximately 40,000 yen with a monthly production of 15,000 units.
