Petats - Adhesive Thumb Tacks

-
At the International Stationery & Office Products Fair, Tombow Pencil exhibited Petats, which are round pieces of adhesive tack which come in two sizes, for attaching posters or documents to walls.

Because Petats can do most things that thumb tacks do, Tombow calls them "adhesive thumb tacks."

"Petats contain adhesive between two pieces of transparent film. They can be used instead of thumb tacks, just by sticking them on the back of objects for display."

To remove Petats, slowly peel the corners of the object off the wall, then use your finger to ease the Petats away from the object. Once you can grasp the Petats, you can slowly remove them from the paper.

"Lots of people want to display things on walls, but don't. That's because they don't want to leave marks on the wall or make holes in the objects, or have thumb tacks fall off with the possibly of hurting people. So we'd like to establish a new way of sticking things on walls using Petats."

The main constituent of Petats is a hydrocarbon resin. Petats are soft at room temperature, and because they are quite thin, they can be attached to objects flexibly. And because Petats don't contain solvents, they have virtually no "solvent migration" effect on objects.

Petats were released in April. A packet of 60 M size or 40 L size adhesive tacks costs 250 yen.
