In the Intel booth at Embedded Technology 2010, Pioneer Solutions exhibited the Discussion Table, a next-generation conferencing system powered by the Intel Core i7 Processor.
The Discussion Table was developed as a powerful tool to support collaboration within businesses. Each member brings their own notebook PC or tablet, and by showing data on the table, including pictures, videos, and Excel files, everyone can use the table as a media hub.

"Pioneer Solutions originally manufactured conferencing systems and digital blackboards using touchscreens. So we're able to utilize the video capabilities of our own network technologies, from our touchscreen and teleconferencing systems. And we think there's demand for a system where the display can be placed horizontally. So we've created the Discussion Table."
The table runs on Windows Embedded Standard 7, which has touchscreen support. So its capabilities are achieved using just a minimal set of device drivers and the standard features of Windows.
Content on the monitor can be enlarged, reduced, rotated, moved and drawn on by touch. In addition, content can be pushed to a second vertical monitor for viewing.
The Discussion Table also has a built-in scanner, so paper documents can be scanned in right away. And a digital camera that supports Transfer Jet can be used to import data, just by placing the camera on the bezel of the main monitor. Content that can't be handled by the Discussion Table can be displayed directly from the host PC with desktop mirroring.
"When we started to develop the Discussion Table, we assumed it would be used for manufacturing design reviews or office applications. But we've also heard that people hope it can be used as a tactical headquarters in emergencies. We've also received enquiries about using the Discussion Table with catalog viewing applications, for giving presentations in showrooms, car dealerships, and home-based sales events."
The Discussion Table is currently under development, for release in 2011.
